For all these years, the monks experienced great hardship and inconvenience due to the open debate courtyard. The monks have been exposed to the elements during the debate practice. At times, the regular debate practice had to be discontinued due to heavy rainfall and inclement weather. Thus, a considerable amount of valuable time of the monks is lost through such disruption. So, with the generosity of our devotees, benefactors and supporters in foreign countries particularly from Taiwan and USA, the society embarked on debate hall project to ease the difficulties faced by the monk students. The project is nearing its completion and will be ready for use before long.
Since Science subject has already been incorporated into the monastic mainstream curriculum, need of a separate infrastructure for science program was strongly felt. After receiving kind consent and offer from our generous supporters to fund the construction for ‘Meditation and Science’ project, the construction work was started on the site allotted to the monastery by the state government and with permission from the authority concerned, in the year 2014. The construction work may possibly take three years to complete.
